Over the years, we’ve recruited and funded postgraduates from local universities, forming a core development team able to tackle new digital challenges. With funding support from the Welsh Government’s SMARTCymru and KESS II research programmes, we collaborate with academic partners and technology vendors to conduct innovation and research activities.
PhD Funding & Research
We support innovation on a local level by sponsoring PhD studentships in universities in South Wales. Our current sponsors are conducting cutting-edge research in cyber security, specialising in areas including AR/VR, Automation, Data Science, ICS (Industry Computer-controlled Systems) and SDN (Software Defined Networking).
We actively welcome our postgraduates into the incredible ecosystem we have cultivated with our partners and customers, granting them invaluable experience working on real complex challenges with industry leaders.
We foster the development of new skills and technologies within the community through funding PhDs, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), training, and examination support for South Wales universities.
Government Supported Research
Through the SMARTCymru scheme, we are developing an automated simulation environment that will enable us to deliver virtual system reference model capabilities and automated assurance services, alongside developing enhanced ICT professional services. SMARTCymru is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.
Our links with academia grant us essential access to new talent, and we have recruited most of our full-time staff out of local universities onto our word-class engineering and research teams. The collaborative research undertaken by our engineering team and academic partners enables the exploration of new technologies, ensures our staff’s continued professional development, and provides experience coaching postgraduate researchers.
